I am 500+ Hr NY/NJ based yoga Instructor Half Puerto Rican Half Ecuadorian originally from the Bronx. Founder of Yogis Unidos A LATINX Based Yoga Community. I found my way back to yoga during a trying time im my life 12 years ago and I’ve been practicing ever since. Seeing the mental and physical benefits of yoga is what inspired me to teach in hopes of helping others just as my favorite instructors had done for taught me. When I’m not practicing or teaching I am a mama to my 6 yr old daughter. As a teacher, my classes center around getting students out of their heads and into their bodies. I’m all about teaching challenging and empowering classes where I help my students embrace who they are, moment by moment. My classes are equal parts physical challenge and mental self-care. You can expect fun playlists, fiery sequencing, a quick sense of humor, and most importantly, a focus on learning to show up for yourself more grounded, centered, and determined than when you walked in. In other words: “I want you to feel like the baddest b****”.
August (they/them) is an artist, dancer, & movement practitioner of 10+ years. Having studied and performed Western/European-based techniques at a professional level, they sought out to shift their colonized perspective of somatic modalities. Since receiving the privilege to train within systems of indigenous knowledge (i.e Ansana based practices, Qi Gong, social movement of the African Diaspora, etc.), they began to cultivate an inclusive and comprehensive understanding of the many ways in which we can establish a functional awareness of our physical, emotional, and energetic body. Albeit forever a student, August began teaching as means to not only share information with their immediate community but also to hold space in ways which abolish the isms, phobias, and prejudice that operate within fitness and our greater society.

Meg Louise brings her lifelong experience with and love of dance and music to every class she leads. Both a competitive figure skater with dance training and a pianist from an early age, her expertise lies in the movement and music connection and how that connection facilitates the expression and processing of emotions. She has been an ACE Certified Fitness Instructor at Columbia University for more than 20 years, she holds a certification from Power Pilates, and she taught pole dancing and sensual movement at S Factor NY from 2009 – 2021. As part of her musical training, she has studied with some of the finest musicians in the world including faculty from Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, the Aspen Music Festival, Interlochen Center for the Arts and the Conservatoire Américain de Fontainebleau and she was a piano accompanist for the New York School of Ballet and Ballet West.
Known to many as ‘the music whisperer,’ Meg has a keen ability to select music that will bring out expression of specific embodied emotions and concepts through movement. She has a reputation for picking just the right song for a dancer’s mood, for knowing what musical elements will bring a student’s body blissfully alive, and for being able to identify much about a person’s internal temperament from their preferred music for dance. She has developed a copyrighted curriculum Music for Dancers that teaches dancers to hear more in the music so that they can feel more from the music. Along with a carefully crafted playlist, she creates each of her classes with a particular theme or focus. Her goal is to inspire and to encourage exploration while providing a great workout and to give each student exactly the experience they need/desire on any given day.
Meg life is filled with polarity; she is a classical musician and a hip hop dancer, earned both a Masters in Music and an MBA, teaches pole dancing and chairs boards of directors, and enjoys seeking out new endeavors while cherishing familiarity and stability. The five things she can’t live without are music, dance, sex, the warmth of the sun on her body, and the love of her husband Seth and their four kids.
Founder and director of NYC’s top holistic cleansing center (SanaVita) focusing on colon hydrotherapy for 13 years, is now opening, in 2022, PoleArity Palace, a new home for empowered sensual movement, pole dancing and wellness. We will continue the journey of cleansing and detoxing from a place of great curiosity instead of disgust. By clearing out the “clutter” within, we will be retrieving more of our true selves, focusing on what we are gaining, rather than trying to RID ourselves of the things that we perceive as unacceptable or unloveable.
